Phase 02 — Pre-Project

Plan a Short Story or Novella.

Pick your length. Sketch your protagonist and the central pressure. Grey will lay out the scene map sized to fit.

Grey.
Your writing partner. Compression is craft. Short fiction lives or dies on what's left out. Tell me your length, your character, and what hurts; I'll sketch a scene map that fits the form. Flash carries one decisive moment. A novella can hold an arc.
Step 1 — Choose Your Length
Flash Fiction
Under 1,000 words
A single charged moment. One image, one decision, one reveal.
Short Story
1,000 to 7,500 words
A complete arc in a few scenes. Pressure builds, breaks, settles.
Long Short Story
7,500 to 20,000 words
Room for a subplot or a second viewpoint. Still tight.
Novella
20,000 to 40,000 words
A full arc with breathing room. Acts, turns, an interior.
